Don't you think Saddam might not consider the threat of force to be credible when you have all these squeemish liberals running around interfering? Do you think we can maintain the current troop buildup indefinitely?

Nope.. there are enough hawks in the Rep ranks to more than make up for the sqeemish liberals. Do I think we can maintain a military presence indefinitely? Yes...we do in Germany, Korea, Japan, and anywhere else we get an opportunity. By the way, I am saying that this should be a UN presence, not exclusively an American presence, or we'll screw it up again with spies and hidden agendas.

You're an absolute hypocrite. You were complaining at the very suggestion we might take action without the UN. Now you're claiming Bush Sr.'s determination not to violate the UN mandate was a "mistake".

Well, you're no gift to integrity yourself. Bush got to negotiate the terms of the cease fire with the Iraqis in 1991. He delegated that to Schwartzopkf, who got very little guidance and forgot a few important details. By the way, Bush did not have a problem imposing a no fly without UN approval, did not have trouble inciting the Kurds and Shites, and promising them military support, then abandoning them, all without UN approval...but he could not take the time to negotiate a decent cease fire agreement.

The anti-war liberals are, for the most part, two-faced on these issues, and I think you have clearly shown that to be the case.

Clear as mud on a white shirt.
