The 'right of return' refers to Palestinians returning to land that until 1967 was outside Israel. The issue of returning to Israel itself is a No, for the reeasons you give.

I can see your views on Arafat and the Palestinians fit you well to make objective opinions... not. I don't think I need to hear any more, thanks, they're neither edifying nor original.
Just recall that the Palestinians were present in Israel for at least as long as the vast majority of its Jewish inhabitants - Jews were not the only inhabitants in Ottoman times by any means, but both peoples lived relatively peacefully. The problems only began when Europe tried expiating its own guilt by promising the land to Jews regardless of the other inhabitants, and the terrorists aka Stern Gang then took matters into their own hands.
