And to the issue of Bush, Saddam, or both I would add that Saddam definitely fits the bill while Bush is only tilting a bit in that direction. But he hasn't crossed the line - yet.
...Which is why I am willing to support the Iraq war - with conditions.

...I don't want GWB to believe that his "moral imperative" allows him to control the agenda. Which is why it is important to me that the UN approves the action.

Worth noting - France has said that they would support military action if done so with a resolution that gives a concrete and reasonable deadline for the inspection process/disarmament.

So it may yet be possible for me to have my cake (goodbye Saddam) and eat it too (GWB acts under UN auspices).

It must be my mistake in expression if everyone thought I subscribed to that view. I was only expressing the growing numbers of people are making that analogy, because I generally try to give impressions of what is going on in Europe and the Middle East to people on SI (Americans, in general), who do not travel much and hence are not really aware of what people in other parts of the world are thinking.
