The real bulls--t is this lukewarm nonsense that France and Germany propose. History has proven time and time again that half-assed solutions ultimately fail, yet most nations are too weak in their resolve to go one way or the other. Yes, I agree it was a mistake for Bush Sr. not to take out Saddam when we had the chance. Desert Storm should have entailed more than just a simple liberation of Kuwait. Now I feel Dubya has the prime opportunity to fix this mistake once and for all. Containment is not an option in my mind; just look at how dangerous North Korea is with nukes. A nuclear Saddam would be ten times as dangerous as a nuclear North Korea. We should go in, finish the job, then commit heavily to humanitarian aid. If we can't do all that, then we have absolutely no business being there in the first place. And to hell with what France, Germany, and Russia say. Without Dubya, not only would there be no inspectors in Iraq, but these three nations would have also pushed for easing of sanctions. Now how's that for neutering the U.N. Security Council even more? This idea that Iraq is a threat to America is trumped up bullshit. Who, except for any extremist liberal, has said he believes Iraq is NOT a threat to America? I don't think you can name EVEN ONE. Your remarks are those of one who extreme. Anyone who is conservative or moderate or even somewhat liberal believes America is threatened by Saddam. The Barbara Boxers, Radical Hollywood Left, Congressional Black Caucus, Howard Deans of the world say we are not threatened, but honestly, these extremists are much more concerned about the Iraqi people than they are the American people.
