i have been told those "crackpot" theories are exactly the theories used to find not only the enormous russian fields but to find revival candidate wells in texas.

me, i don't know enough to have an opinion. i just note similar labels were stapled to the foreheads of tectonic plate believers. and who could blame them? continents moving, sheesh, patently absurd on the face of it.

well, whether you agree or disagree on the conclusion -- I think Heinz points out the right way of looking at the thing -- it's not the cost of extraction in phony pieces of paper -- it is the cost of extraction in measured in energy, but where do you get those measures??
