Maurice,

I was talking to a Norwegian soldier last year that served in the coalition force in Afghan. He also served in Kosovo, in fact was there at the time of the WTC attack.

He said in the Afghan campaign the local combatants on our side didn't really have an allegiance to anyone, just the highest bidder. We were the highest bidder. He went into detail about the various factions, how the vast majority of Afghans were warm, wonderful people, and on and on.

His summation of the situation, from his eyes:

"I only trust the Americans"

Maurice,

that was the deciding post.

Our plans to visit NZ has been canceled. I showed your post to Jackie and she said she would rather visit dentist than visit rantman.

In contrast to Ramsey, I've decided that New Zealand is looking more and more like a place inhabited by incredible astute individuals (such as yourself), and am now looking for a decent airfare to take my family for a trip. Let Ramsey stay home, that way the Su vacation effect won't be invoked...
