Interesting article. Surprised he didn't mention
real estate as a viable option. Sure, it's had its
ups and downs (mostly ups but when it heads down, it's
at a far less pace than the up portion, and they sure ain't making any more of it).

The biggest mistake I made was not dumping some of my
mutual funds, or moving them into bonds. Another was
to buy a good solid company and not get out of it when
the getting was good. Didn't think that the general
tanking would last this long.

My stuff is now (and has been) split around. I do look for
bottoms (or near bottoms) and buy in my "play around"
account. If the signs indicate further upward movement,
I'll stick with it, otherwise I'll take the few points
and get out. In this market, there had better be an
excellant reason to buy and hold.

BTW, I'll bet the analyst that "poofed" on MO isn't a
smoker, since most of the 25-30% smokers in the country are
very brand loyal - even at the "cheap" cigarette stores.
Oh well, if MO drops some more and the stars are right,
I'll add to my position. It is one of the few companies
that I treat as a buy and hold. Besides they own 84% of
KFT which ain't no small potatoes.

Take Care!

mm --This is a sideways market. Not a good time for LTB&H for me. And I hate what's going on with stock options. So I nickel and dime the 4 horsemen. It's fun if you have the time and patience.
