Which reminds me. The handoff (handover) from an EV-DO connection on a carrier's carrier (Nextwave) to GPRS of another carrier should be interesting.

Why do you think this is more difficult than from CDMA1x to Analog on another carrier?

Ron,

<< The handoff (handover) from an EV-DO connection on a carrier's carrier (Nextwave) to GPRS of another carrier should be interesting. >>

Before we get exotic ... the handover from a 1xRTT connection on any cdma carrier to GSM with GPRS and EDGE networks of other carriers on a variety of network gear should be most interesting.

Now conceivably one can live without handover and initiate new sessions in any of these scenarios but handoff (handover) will present a challenge for multi-mode chips for voice as well as data.

Best,

- Eric -
