"Where were Bush's critics during Kosovo?"

Kosovo was an honorable mission since it saved lives being snuffed out by genocide and ethnic cleansing. To claim that Jr. is doing the same think now is silly unless you can show current evidence that Saddam is in the process of killing people systematically. If he is, Jr. would have no trouble getting backing by the world including most liberals in this country. To claim we are invading for humanitarian reasons because he gassed or killed Kurds in large numbers is a dollar short and a day late. By such reasoning, an invasion of Rwanda is also in order and perhaps even Cambodia for the killings that took place in those countries years ago. When Saddam invaded Kuwait, I thought it was Sr.'s finest moment and supported him fully...he had little trouble getting world support especially from the Arab's. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait were very thankful and paid most of our bills and treated Sr. very well after he left office. You will also recall that the gassing and killing of the Kurds took place in 1988-89 while Sr. was in command....was there no humanitarian concern then....the citizens of this country didn't even know it was going on....it was a virtual secret. Why? because we supporting Saddam in his war with Iran....also a secret...

Re: " Bush (Sept. 12, 2002): "We can harbor no illusions, and that's important today to remember. Saddam Hussein attacked Iran in 1980 and Kuwait in 1990. He's fired ballistic missiles at Iran and Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Israel. His regime once ordered the killing of every person between the ages of 15 and 70 in certain Kurdish villages in northern Iraq. He has gassed many Iranians and 40 Iraqi villages."

I have read many accounts of the Kurd gassings, but haven't ever seen the order to kill all between 15-70...you have a reference??

With regard to the current situation, Bush would have no trouble getting the world and the nation behind him if he could show the evidence he maintains he has against Saddam... Protection of sources is not a credible reason...
