There are plenty of conservatives who have been trying to blame Clinton for what happened on 9/11, so save the crocadile tears fella.

Yes, I do hold the Bush administration and the military partiallly responsible for what happened on 9/11. Why shouldn't I, they are in charge of defending this country and dropped the ball on that day. Those who died in the attacks have been shamed by our military and civillian leaders, not little old me.

Are you people mindless zombies? Aren't you concerned that our military and civillian officials were so ill prepared for such an event that they couldn't even scramble planes from Andrews AFB to defend DC and the Pentagon, when the WTC had been attacked an hour earlier? That they didn't try to incercept the plane that hit DC, even though they knew that two other planes had been hijacked and hit the WTC, even though they knew the plane had made a sudden 180 turn over Ohio and was heading back to DC? Something stinks to high heavens if the U.S. with all it's military might can't repsond to a situation like that. We're not talking a matter of minutes. We're talking over an hour. A lot of people in the military should have lost their jobs over their inability to respond to this threat. As if, we didn't have contingencies to protect DC from air attack? I have a hard time believing that they could actually crash a plane into the Pentagon over an hour after the WTC was struck and there were no military craft circling DC to defend it. Something doesn't add up?

And, when Andrew Card told President Bush that a plane had hit the WTC his reaction was very subdued. Too subdued if you ask me, even if he didn't know that it was a terrorist attack. Someone suddenly tells you that a plane has hit the biggest building in America and your reaction is like you are being given sports score. No shock! No questions in response to this earth-shattering news! No rush to the exit by Secret Security to make sure the President is safe. No, the President nods and contines reading to schoolchildren. Sitting there like a sitting duck. Seems strange to me?!?

What was Donald Rumsfeld doing to protect our country that morning?

What about the head of the Joints Chiefs of Staff? He was in a meeting with Senator Max Cleland during the entire event. Great response to such an unprecedented situation. You'd think he'd at least cancel his meeting and Rush over to a command post somewhere.

I dunno. I would be concerned if a Democratic adminstration had done the same. I'm not trying to make political hey out of the tragedy. But, I am concerned about why we weren't able to defend ourselves, especially DC and why our leaders seemed so unconcerned about the fact that planes were falling out of the sky and hitting buildings. Some heads should roll for letting us down that fateful day. BTW, I knew some people who died in the WTC. :-( It was not a happy time for me.
