Ramsey, re "so what percentage of KDDI subs are now 1x? wonder when is the capacity advantage of 1x going to kick in?"

At the end of Feb, 43% (5.89 mln/13.65 mln) of KDDI 'au" CDMA subs were 1x subs.

The capacity advantage has already "kicked in". It's not like falling off a cliff. It's a gradual thing, roughly a squared relationship, as I recall.

For example, either 70% of the capacity advantage is achieved when 50% (0.7 * 0.7) of the subs are 1x, OR 50% of the capacity advantage is achieved when 70% of the subs are 1x.

Aside: Unfortunately, a brain fart prevents me from recalling which of the above is correct. <g> Did you realize the word "fart" is not in SI's spell-checker? I wonder if that means the word shouldn't be used. <gg>
