After all, Afghani resistance was expected to be even fiercer than Iraqi resistance is supposed to be. I believe Saddam will be a more difficult opponent than the Taliban regime. In any case, I bring up the estimate numbers occasionally because I believe that like in court every party should have its voice, and in my view the "voice of doubt" is underrepresented at FADG. Even the much-praised Pollack book hardly discusses Iraqi civilian deaths at all; Pollack mainly concentrates on the potentially few thousand US Forces casualties.
