For the very simple reason that soon in this country there will not be a majority. If that's the case, then deal with it then. I doubt that will be the case though. No, its better to deal with it ahead of time. Besides, some studies say Americans who have any kind of religious affiliation, let alone Christian, are quickly approaching minority status when compared to the total population [a 1997 study said 63% of all Americans belonged to some faith group including Christians, Muslims, Buddist, Jews etc. ; other studies disagree so I gave Christianity the benefit of the doubt.
