Iran had sent the U.S. a strong message of interest in cooperating against terrorism when it arrested several terrorists who had fled to Iran and turned them over to the appropriate authorities Yes. Iran was also a great help and an ally during the war with Afghanistan, helping win over quite a few Afghan war lords and establish order in Kabul. Then came the "axis of evil" speech. I cannot believe Iranians have appreciated that characterization much after their help with Afghanistan...

Time for lot of words is over, Art. Bottom line, if our hundreds of thousands of troops were NOT there, there would be NO cooperation by Saddam right now....even now he is just dribbling out a few weapons here and there according to Blix. ..if you refuse to see that, you can't be helped and you must be just a professional debater. We cannot let our troops just sit there while Saddam plays the anti-war guys for fools for the next five years. Already had 12 years of that. Have you listened to any of the people that have gotten out of Iraq? What about them? As far as Iran, they can say what they want, but IMO, their country is changing internally, because the people are sick to death of the government there. Cooperation with the West will come because of that reason, not for whether we disarm Saddam by force or not..
