That worries me as well. It will backfire, nevertheless, as the Kurds in Northern Iraq right now have more autonomy than they've seen in at least 30 years. Is the U.S. going to limit Kurdish independence to please the Turks? If so, then what does all this do to the claims that we want democracy in Iraq? It's a lose lose scenario if the U.S. offers anything to the Turks. But then, this administration has engaged in a series of losing tactics from square one.
