Sources said during his recent visit to Pakistan, George Tenet, the CIA director, had secretly met President General Pervez Musaharraf and got permission to bring in several CIA teams. These teams included special operations men, experts in electronic espionage and monitoring and agents carrying large amounts of money to buy information and loyalties.

The sources said the teams not only tracked down the Qaeda suspects to their hideout in Afghanistan near Balochistan border but also directed the firepower in Friday’s operation.
