I don't think that I agree with that assumption. It may be the current case for that area of the world, however, nearly all of the United States' major trading partners and allies lean toward a free society (I don't like the word democracy in that it just conjures up the idea of mob rule and the fact that a lot of people mistakenly think the US is a democracy).

In fact, I can't think of a war since the beginning of the twentieth century involving the US, where the US didn't support free markets and individual rights, to a very large degree, for the country in question.

No, I am not taking anything you say personally. Your posts, as far as I can recall, have most always tended to be honest and well thought out rather than the cheap shots that are so prevalent on SI. So, even if you and I disagree on minor points or major issues, I can appreciate the person behind the words for being honest and open in the discussion. The fact is you provide a lot for me to ponder.
