I hope my remark doesn’t assign me forever to the camp of conspiracy theorists… -g.

It seems that sometimes the running of stops may acquire a momentum of its own. Today’s action was rather impressive.

I think that at times the chain reaction of falls of stops may move the market into a spike under its own momentum, in which case the price action may – at the extreme – NOT really reflect the underlying "public mood". At such moments it may be more reflective of the current technological mechanics of the markets.

As for the "Osama rally"... Man, if it only were true... I wouldn’t mind getting one on the chin - for such a great reason... -g.
