No, I just want to call a spade a spade. Oil is a real motivating factor here. Certainly, the Iraqi people wonn't be any worse off under U.S. control than they are under Saddam. Yes, the scenario I outlined is a win-win for the Iraqi people. Saddam has pissed their oil resources away.

If I was President of the United States, I'd get us off our oil habit for good and then our children wouldn't have to worry about going cold at night. Certainly, there's a better way to run our economy then oil that requires so much bloodshed to protect it. That is how envision America. An America that doesn't rely on foreign oil at all. That would save us a lot of worries. Of course, the oil companies wouldn't stand for it.

Implausible? You don't think a new Iraqi government will be a puppet of the U.S.? You don't think we could convince them to sell us their oil infrastructure for a fair price? Watch and learn. That's exactly what Bush and company have in mind.
