I see. I think all of this is fascinating. Absolutely fascinating. GWB has some excellent advisors, and I'm quite sure they, and he, have worked out scenarios that avoid, or attempt to avoid, the mistakes of the past. I remember my high school teacher in 1966 talking about Viet Nam. He said we were "living history". Little did I know...

I have a good friend that fled Iran back when Jimmy Carter was President. The one single thing he faulted the United States for was leaving the population hung out to dry. I'll bet that doesn't happen this time. I'll also bet that moving Iraq into the 21st century is a bit threatening to several of its neighbors. I cannot imagine that the current administration does not have this situation under control as far as planning. That said, I suspect there will be 'mistakes', since you can't please everyone.

And all of it amidst our misinformed and ignorant citizens actually forwarding the idea that the United States will be planting weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and then "discovering" them. It's so goofy it stretches my imagination. I'll be glad when this Saddam thing is over. And thankfully, it will be over soon.
