C-Span was the only place where an American citizen, in America, could find the presentation of the Iraqi ambassador at today's council meeting. While he was talking, Powell had split the Security Council chambers and took control of CNN, MSNBC and Fox live presentations. And that's pretty much what most Americans saw, and that's the information they got to help shape their opinion. I always thought that if a true decision were fair, that the information toward this decision would result from a reasonable and fair analysis from both sides of the story. I can only conclude that my growing up as an All-American boy, once maturity and cohesion of the thought process crystalized for me, proved disappointing--that my country is not all it purpports to be.
