"Dick Cheney had legal deferments" Whatever. Same result. Dick Cheney avoided service in Viet Nam (I can't fault him on that though). Those deferments were set up to make it easy for the children of the privlidged to avoid military service. If he was such a true red, white and blue American, he should have served when his country called him. Clinton was a draft dodger. But, if there ever was a war worth avoiding (can't really blame Cheney for using legal deferments) it was Viet Nam. Clinton was smart guy. Smart enough to realize the futility of our involvement in Viet Nam. Perhaps if more had followed his lead, the government would have been forced to end the war sooner. You can't fight a stupid and pointless war without any soldiers.
