You are wrong about that. Every kid in the country could go to college.

Clinton never told Uncle Sam about his displeasure with the war until after he had slinked out of the country for a few years. When they went looking for him, he wrote that sob story about loathing the military. Mind you, his argument in that document was more centered on hating the military than it was on whether the Vietnam conflict wa just. The guy was a fraud and the most vile coward I have ever run across.

Draftees who opposed the war on moral grounds stood up and said so, became conscientious objectors, went to Canada or went to jail. Muhammed Ali went to jail while the coward Bill Clinton went to vacation in Europe.

Rock_nj, you make too much sense to find widespread agreement. You have strayed too far from the beaten path. And have remained too close to the truth. For such a young guy, you have very uncommon wisdom. Unfortunately, it is ignored by many, if not opposed.

Pearls before swine.

rock,

re:but mainly kids from wealthy backgrounds, especially back in the 1960s and early 1970s. College wasn't as accessible back then.

So how many college's have been built since 1970?
You are way off base here, my father went to college and that was before any government assistance programs. He did it fishing for Salmon during the summer months.

re:Viet Nam was a pointless war and history has proven it to be so.

Hindsight is 20/20 - they didn't see it that way at the time. The spread of communism was a "real" threat in their minds.
