Bush's corporate welfare for polluting industry is outrageous. As if they dont have enough influence in his administration, and aren't getting enough help ripping down environmental protection laws.

Bush's original energy bill had 11 billion in direct subsidies to the oil business for drilling in Alaska and other assaults on our wilderness. This is right after the phony energy crisis and Enron scandals.

That is why leaders like John Kerry stopped the Bush energy bill in its tracks. New GOP senators like Norm Coleman promised durnig their campaign to oppose Bush's drilling plans but let's see if he really does it.

<<You think Bush's plans for heavy taxpayer-paid subsidies to the uranium, oil, and coal industries is a good policy?
We'd be far better of just letting the Free Markets work.>>

Well Vern the free markets are working. My co-op has bought a coal field and is building a plant there. It will half the cost of electricity. BTW, the plant will be producing less than half the pollutants that are mandated for 2020.
