The oil business is also not regulated by the government. The facts and figures they provide are on a voluntary basis. Their Petroleum Institute is supposed to be non-partisan, but since Bush-Cheney started running it's been collaborating 100% with them. Hence,the phony energy crisis in 2000, which Enron types helped engineer and they all went along with. It helped Bush into the WH, gave them a phony issue against Gore, tilted us into recession and ripped off consumers of all parties to the tune of 100 billion. So far not a single one of them has gone to jail, though two killed themselves.
