The Patriot Act is deeply flawed to be sure -- but it is nothing as compared to the foreign policy disaster that has come from the White House in the past year. We can go back and fix the Patriot Act. But the damage to the reputation and leadership stature of the United States will take decades to heal. Terrorism flourishes amid hatred -- Bush has done nothing but fan the flames of hatred for the United States and that hatred is the root cause of 9/11 -- not Iraq's weapons. There are solid reasons why so many people all over the world now view Bush as the biggest threat to peace and security in the world.

"The Patriot Act had plenty of debate." What a crock of $hit -- most people did not have time to read it much less debate it. It was rammed through sight unseen.
