What we really need to do, is subcontract out the Nation Building, to pacifist nations. That would save a lot of costs. If we must do Regime Change, then immediately turn the countries over to Japan and Germany and Canada. Nation Building is no fun, and expensive. Americans like ShockAndAwe, there is a certain attraction to snuffing out Saddams and Talibans. But we are really not suited, by national temperment, to the dull slog of picking up the pieces afterward. The Lone Ranger never did any Nation Building.

<<President Bush's proposed new round of tax cuts and the rest of his budget would produce unabated federal
deficits over the coming decade totaling a massive $1.82 trillion, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget
Office projected on Friday.>>>
About three years ago a mere three companies Msft, Csco, and Orcl were worth $1.76 Trillion in market cap.
If in the next ten years they merely recover to their one-time worth , it would equal all the estimated
deficit value
If you include a nominal inflation rate the debt can be paid back in much cheaper dollars
If autos and gas are cheaper in ten years than they are today, and there is no inflation, I will eat a Ford
