To believe that there is no connection between Saddam and his hatred for America and his willingness to kill Americans, stealthily as it may be, and the other group of terrorists who also hate and want to kill Americans, is just plain stupid and naive. C'mon, connect the dots, listen to Powell and the intelligence he has already revealed about this connection. And the intelligence that they have which they simply cannot reveal or else burn some of their sources is undisputable evidence of the connection. Here's what I think. Even if the probability of a connection is extremely low, the risk we will be taking from the possibility of this madman aiding and abetting (in stealth) other terrorists, and the possible devastation to our own families here in the US from chemical, biological, and perhaps nuclear weapons - that risk - is simply too high. So the cost of war today of eliminating Saddam and his weapons that everyone knows he has is much less than the human, immeasurable cost of doing nothing.
