Thanks, Gary. very interesting and insightful (in my limited vision).

Yes, there is no doubt that the US has "transformed". I think the "triggers" for the transformation have been the stockmarket collapse leading to profound loss of confidence in the financial system and 911 which led to distressing anxieties and fears on the part of many people. What the "real" causes of 911 were is something I will not discuss at this time but, suffice it to say, the beneficiaries of the dastardly attack were certainly not the Muslims who were alleged to have been behind it.

And, back on the ranch, there is a government which is conducting its own agenda while busily removing the rights from its own citizens in the name of "State Security". This government has two easily-identifiable components of self-interest. Firstly, there are the oil barons who are out to control all the world's oil and, secondly, the intellectuals (also known as neocons or chicken-hawks), who are out to implement a complete geopolitical change in the MidEast so as to enable Israel to "ethnically cleanse" the Palestinian territories, possibly into the newly-acquired, "democratic" Iraq. Who knows, but the ultimate desire of these visionaries, who populate every US think-tank and surround GWB like bees around the queen, may even be to create a "Greater Israel" extending from the Mediterranean Sea to the Persian Gulf and financed by the newly-found oil.

How all this benefits the American People is completely beyond me. On the contrary, Joe Soap has to pay the taxes to finance the various military adventures as well as see his kids die in the various wars --- and all the while he is being told that he is doing this to save the world from the scourge of terrorism and evil --- of course, with God's help.
