And can you please provide a reputable source of evidence where Saddam used chemicals against people in other than warlike conditions (see report of former CIA analyst and US Army College Professor Stephen Pelletier)? And regarding the Iran War (where most of the "millions" died--ca. 600,000 Iranians and 400,000 Iraqis) the US supported that war both morally, politically and logistically, even after it was known the chemicals were used to repel an Iranian attacks. Regarding Kuwait, he was dead wrong and has paid the price for that mistaken invasion. >>>Saddam would rather have sanctions against his country, for many years, rather than give up his huge weapon cache of poison gases, and biologics.<<< According to US and Brtish intelligence, which was repressed and not disclosed, those weapons were buried in 1991. The US and British governments released only the portion of this intelligence that supports going to war, but repressed the portion of this intelligence that would not have supported going to war.stacks.msnbc.com >>>Saddam funds terrorism in the Middle East, and harbors terrorists.<<< Baghdad is a city of 5.5 million people. Do you think it's possible that a terrorist or few could get into such a population? Hey, America currently houses "terrorists" who'd invade Cuba in a New York minute. And how many from the evil regimes of the Shah of Iran, Marcos of the Phillipines, among others from any number of US-supported evil despots, are "housed" in the United States? Robert, please produce a list from a reputable source that shows the extensiveness of terrorists who are routinely harbored in Iraq. >>>I can see why someone like you can't fathom why Saddam is a dangerous threat! <g><<< Robert, there are more than a few sufficient reaons to hold a viewpoint contrary to your own. Many of those reasons are referenced in this thread's header. I recommend you read each and every one. Take up the challenge and do that, then compare this knowledge to your own. At a minimum, if you're not fully converted to a new way of thinking, you'd at least understand how someone can think differently than you, and that there actually exists more than a few credible reasons for such thinking.
