Very well said!

In another post you said I don't buy the Oil argument, or the revenge argument, or finishing business argument. So why on earth does BUSH want to risk his political career on attacking IRAQ?. I agree completely and believe that anyone who has an open mind and has paid any attention to Bush's speeches or actions can see that he is simply doing what he thinks is "the right thing to do". There are no hidden motives beyond that.

Just as successful stock market players have to have the confidence in themselves to go against the majority from time to time, so must great leaders of companies and great leaders of countries. Bush is willing to go against the world majority in this case based on his vision of how to beat back terrorism on a long term basis and make the United States and the world a safer place.

As far as leaders being affected by politics however, seems to me that the France and Germany economies are falling further and further behind; and the politicians love having an issue to take their population's mind off the failure of their country to compete.
