There is always uncertainty at election time, especially when it is guarenteed to bring a change of administration. Nobody is surprised when the market responds to that uncertainty with it's usual anticipation. Such a normal condition would have righted itself once the uncertainty was resolved, unless the new policies were so much worse than the old ones that the basic foundation of the economy was disrupted. A dozen years of movement toward high technology and intellectual property as an engine of growth was thrown away when Junior wanted to go back to rewarding the owners of the old hard assets, forests, coal, oil, and military contracts. That is why the economy has backed up to levels not seen in those dozen years.
