Steve, as the owner of my own small business, I can testify from first hand knowledge how the employment market has deteriorated. When I hired my Secretary about 2.5 years ago, the labor market was very tight here in the Seattle-Everett area. Temporary Secretaries were costing $18 an hour and most of them were incompetent. Not any more!

Young people unable to find jobs may vote in 2004 against Bush. In 2000 and last November, they were not very involved.
