It's not hypocritical. We use least possible lethal damage in war? We follow Geneva convention etc.

...But, Today we have people flying planes into building!

...a fanatical will to kill without limitation to method. These cult members have no value for life.

...going as far as blowing themselves up? Stupid? If the muslims really wanted to terrorize the jews they would start crucifying themselves instead?

.....I don't get it?....The Arabs are more afraid of Democracy...that's why they are trying to demonize America.

Saudia Arabia.... greatest fear..other than fanatical cults
Iran is about to become free on it's own.
After Saddamn falls....well

KT, I have no problem with the second bomb - our boys were dying every day the war dragged on. The Japanese treatment of our POWs was enough for me to want to nuke them. They shot our medics and attacked hospitals. F' em. The Japanese whine about the bomb - I say what about the Rape of Nan King , Unit 731 , the Bataan Death March . The cost of invading the mainland would have been enormous. Some people think soldiers are more expendable than civilians - I don't. These guys graduated high school and went to war - I know of a few who quit before high school graduation to enlist. All of us should think about what we did after graduating high school ( I had a care free summer) and what these guys faced. Sixty years later its easy to forget the rage of the American public and the sacrifices made at home and on the front. It would not have been right to prolong the war out of compassion for the ENEMY . mike

If we accept the rationale that the use of WMD on highly populated cities was acceptable in WWII (Hiroshima/Nagasaki) because an "appropriate set of circumstances existed," then we must also accept the rationale that in the future we will choose to use WMD on highly populated cities because an "appropriate set of circumstances exists."

If the holder of the world's largest stockpile of WMD openly claims that:

1. It was acceptable for them to use WMD in the past.
2. They will use WMD in the future when they see fit.

Then no other nations will truly feel safe without their own WMD as a deterrent.

Unless we develop the capacity to approach problems from the standpoint of humanity as a whole (global vs. US-centric), then we eventually risk the survival of the human race..........
