The answer is yes and I think the dialog is in bad form. Any individual and their religion is between them and God.

There is a difference between pointing out what would clearly seem to be a contradiction with the tenet's of a particular religion and a person's words or deeds only, and then going to judgement's of morality based upon that contradiction. The latter enters the realm of bad form.

Is Jewish an ethnicity or a religion?

What would you call a Jew born in Poland? Germany? Austria?
Israel? United States?

So why couldn't a Jew be Catholic or Protestant?? Could you become a Jew or a Catholic?
