Solutions which have been used before, first some time to cool down emotions.
- then time for negotiations
- time to cool down extremists
- new negotiations, confidential
- time to cool down extremists
- new negotiations, confidential
- great leaders agree on how to cool down extremists and a general goal, confidential
- new negotiations, extremists do their best
- great leaders cool down their own extremists, according to the goal, confidentially
- extremists go wild
- great leaders decide to set up mutual plans for the future, despite the extremists
- extremists go wild
- great leaders continue working despite extremists, towards the agreed goal, confidential
- etc,etc..

Pretty much where the 80-150 year, minimum, North Ireland conflict is, after many
generations it might take at least half or one.

Additionally some good or not so good neighbors as well as third-fourth-or-fifth parties
need to step in, all along the way and make other confidential promises supporting
that goal, or at least the direction, as the goal will change along the way.

Sojourner
re: How can there be a Palestinian state that is made up of such pockets?
it should be clear by now that palestinian state under arafat can not exist
re: The only alternative is to remove the Palestinians and deport them all to Jordan. Is that really possible now?
Last time palestinians were in Jordan, the late king cut a lot of palestinian throats.
re: where Israel must constantly maintain check points
only palestinians can resolve the problem, if they would find a way to respect Israel's right to exist in peace all of them would be deported. That brings us back to slaughter of palestinians in Jordan
