I'm starting to think it's more the other way around: numerous largely autonomous nerve centers connected by a tenuous network of links.>>> Good description The network is the one that will be the downfall of the various centers. To do their vile deeds, the group leaders must remain connected to the infinite, a power greater than themselves , a self-proclaimed god like OBL. Else they would fall back on the human inclination of self- preservation. Its works to our advantage to leave them guessing whether OBL is alive or dead. If they thought he was dead, there would be a rash of communications (wireless, phone, e-mail) as they try to verify. And that would leave a trail. The same would happen if he turns up somewhere after being out of touch for a while and they get new orders. Without a flow of money in the network, I think a good deal of the cells would not be able to survive, despite selling drugs( where would they get them)?, credit card thefts ( they could get caught) , or plain thievery, and etc. Follow the Money, they told Robert Redford. Working out the the connections and the methods is an area where the US should really shine. A result of promoting or assigning on the basis of capability from a large base of educated people- especially the young generation of computer game players. It will beat promoting relatives any day of the week. And one more time, I excuse the Administration from not telling us everything they know, and would even expect some disinformation . Fodder for the Bush bashers. Sig .
