You act as though the Iraqi government hasn't done a thing to comply. They've done everything. Every threat was countered with cooperation. Yet you still see the killing of hundreds of thousands of civilians to get one man as the only way out.

"As for money to rebuild Afghanistan, I'm still waiting for the rest of the world to pitch in too"

Did you feel that we should have rebuilt Afghanistan after the Russians had invaded and then left that country?

Why do you now expect something different to occur?

"But it also might be an attempt to force the various Afghan leaders to submit themselves to Karzai's government BEFORE Bush is willing to spend money there."

Hey, you and I can agree on something. Sure! Karzai is a US
installed puppet. What do you suppose will happen if everybody does not fall in line behind the gravy train?
(or should I say pipeline train?)

Namaste!

Jim

Hawk, go back and read the first couple hundred posts on this thread. You'll discover all of us, who are here now who were here then, have agreed that Saddam is a brutal dictator who has murdered and tortured his political enemies.

Bush has yet to declare that he's going after all of the bad dictators, only this particular one. Unfortunately, the greasy nature of this administration (so many connected to the oil industry, including the Bush and Cheney family) and the fact he's hiding his questionable election as president and a worsening economy, make his reasons for this war suspect.

Regarding Afghanastan, is that crisis over completely? Or has it been tossed back a bit, only to brew again in varying form?
