That's a good post, Karen. It takes courage for someone to admit that they were wrong on this war, and to begin advocating against it.

I really think that were Bush to appear before the nation and admit, in his genuine concern to combat terrorism, that he made a mistake by committing too many troops too early into the region, and that he intends to begin withdrawing forces or reassigning them to other areas in the world where more appropriate, perhaps North Korea, he could avert impending disaster.

He'd probably draw on strong support from the American who would begin viewing him as sincere and well-intentioned, a quality that has dodged him during this whole war buildup.
