The fact that left to their own devices, there are several ethnic and political groups which would more than likely engage in a post-Saddam civil war, not to mention Iran and Turkey. If there were to be a civil war, and tens or hundreds of thousands of people are killed (which we've let happen umpteen times in many countries before- under both liberal and conservative administrations), the war might have done more harm than good. -Z
