There were so many "highlights" in that article, FL, that the entire article would have to have been recopied with highlights... Will be paying a good deal more attention to him now. I personally don't know how he could have stood dealing with that very messy situation. Reminds me of the McNamera mess...but the military oof that time "only" had "mostly" our government to deal with. The lack of support, civilians calling the shots totally, and the lawyers making all the 'important firing decisions' really is beyond the pale... Sherman and Grant and Lee have to be rolling over right now.
