I think the confusion over DDR vs. SDRAM stems from the use of the term "bandwidth." I've read in several articles that DDR doubles the memory bandwidth. One would likely conclude this means double the capacity, but I don't believe this is the case. I don't know what the term bandwidth means in this context.

BTW, double the speed is only theoretical. Actual gains in speed of double vs single are in the 0 to 20% range, as I remember it. But in the future software should be able to better exploit the increased bandwidth of DDR, as developers move toward designing programs to specifically use DDR.
