Now I guess that you are indeed a company insider.

Wrong. But I understand your confusion. REFR shareholders aren't typical. It's not a stock you would know about unless you knew someone in the glass industry or heard about it from a friend. It makes sense to me why shorts would initially see it as a target. It has a long R&D time and management makes more than most R&Ds but the payoff is about 1000 times larger than your typical R&D venture. Since Hanglas announced intent to commercialize it was no longer an "if" but a "when" and as you know it took longer than most anticipated but that doesn't diminish the huge upside of this. Not only will SPD be used in several glass products across industries but in display products as well. It's already significantly lower in cost due to Laminated Technologies laminating the glass here and keeping film in stock. The interest has been there and now the awareness of availability of film is bringing more companies in with new products being developed. Hewlett Packard sees the advantages, so does Hitachi and several other giants. You'll see how it all plays out. I'm in no hurry and happy to pick up these shares being thrown at us by those whose intent is to drive the stock price down in hopes of it casting negatively on the company. But shareholders know what they own. You wouldn't have bought REFR if you didn't. It's not a well-known stock except among short sellers and they are maxed out.
