...reminded me that solving Iraq, even if it were possible, will not come close to solving Israel/Palestine. It wouldn’t hurt, I think. A pro-American government in Iraq along with a strong US military presence in the region may turn the tide. It may become more dangerous to support all those assorted extremists, from al Qaida to Hamas and others. Perhaps, Arab moderates would become a little bit emboldened – which would be a very long overdue “phenomenon”.
