The best way to subdue your enemy is to love them. Just as force begets force, so does love beget love. Buddhism does not believe in mass production evangelical transmission. It works one-on-one and therefore it stays beneath the radar. But in virtually every country it has entered, it has left a huge impression within a few generations.

Have you ever had a puppy? It cannot talk. It cannot share the greater ideological issues with you. There is no blood ties to the owner. And yet many people have been known to run into burning buildings to save their dog. Why do you think that is? If people would risk their lives for an animal that does them no major economical benefit (read what is often termed "self-interest") then imagine what can be accomplished by people who show you love and compassion. Especially if they do that despite contrary behavior.
