It takes the nucleus from one cell (could be a skin cell, etc.) and injects it into an egg cell and, with hormones, triggers cellular replication. It is not 'sexual' reproduction. The new blastocyte is a combination of the genetic material from the egg cell and from the donor cell's nucleus.
