Iraqi refugees living in Kansas City talk about oppression, death -- and their hopes for change

kansascity.com

........In Hussein's Iraq, he said, good people are routinely stopped, questioned, incarcerated, tortured and killed for no reason. His father, he said, was killed for praying in a mosque that Saddam didn't like. His mother was tortured. All of her teeth were cut out of her mouth.

Here (in America), he said, no one stops him, or restricts where he can go, or what he can say or do. In fact, despite the dangerous picture Hussein painted about America, he has found it nothing but friendly and helpful.

The Don Bosco Center rented the family a house. The government gave them food stamps and Medicare.

"In my country nobody helps you," he said through the translator. "This country helps anybody. It's wonderful.".......

......."The people of Iraq like the people of America," he said. "And the day they take Saddam Hussein out the people of Iraq will never forget the United States.".......

I added to my QQQ short today & covered part of it in AH
tonight. I'm looking to cover the rest of today's QQQ short
tomorrow on any early weakness.

I'm still holding that older QQQ short for the time being.
Lots of uncertainty out there. That's not good for equities
markets & has restrained corporate spending plans. We're
headed into earnings confession season. I figure that this
several months long spike in oil with little or no spike in
CPI is going to weigh on profit margins.

I could be wrong :-|

If so, I hope I can exit my shorts toot sweet ;-)

Closed the balance of that QQQ short this AM, just 2¢ from
the low of the day thus far. I let a limit order do the
work for me.

Still holding the rest of that QQQ short, now several weeks
old. With a series of lower highs & lower lows, I thing
that there is still more down to come. I'll consider
covering around NAZ 1260, IF we get there.

Hope all is well with you RR.
