I think the clue for us as to the extent of this slide will be what happens on the VIX. If fear never really takes hold, we may start to see a local bottom form and a turning point, and maybe a bounce up. However, if we see VIX take out 40, I think that will be a sign that we will get some heavy panic sell-off. That kind of sell-off will likely be very sharp, and drop us well below the Oct. lows.
