US may be preparing to pre-empt UN Security Council and go to war ahead of or directly after vote on new American-backed Iraq resolution, after France joined Russian veto threat Monday.

New resolution giving Saddam March 17 deadline ultimatum has little hope of majority when vote comes up towards end of week. To influence waverers, Washington played up undeclared Iraqi drone capable of delivering chemical and biological weapons to neighbors.

War preparations are meanwhile gaining momentum. American warships in Middle East regional waters were ordered to go on battle readiness from midday Tuesday. A US defense official reported Iraqis had been seen moving explosives into Iraq’s northern and southern oil fields.

Mark, had this argument with a friend.

Unless Bush is willing to overthrow: Iran, Syria, Lebanon,
N. Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, etc.
isn't he just kidding himself that he's solving the
terrorist problem in this way?

And, what would be the consequences around the world if
we were to invade all of these, and overthrow them?
