Possibly...The problem is that the context wasn't precise and the accusation was directed in general at the Bush supporters. It appeared to be simply "leave them thar people be Abner!!"...(that's my best redneck lefty impression). It seems like the word comes out a lot as tool of the left extremists to label the right extremists with no precise contextual reference.
